We have sailed around the planet!!

A very early finish on Sunday morning with flares in the rain and lots of Champange on the dock. It was wonderful to catch some shut eye in a bed!

A support boat came to welcome us from a couple of miles out. Shouting and screams of joy came from the boat. Nick and I lit a couple of flares in the drizzle as the boat continued to take us towards the finish line. We crossed the line at 01:40:41 local time! Hooters and horns went off as Nick and I dropped the stay sail on the deck. Once the main was down we motored up the little channel into Les Sables.
Once we had thrown a few lines we popped open two bottles of French bubbles. Nick and I sprayed each other with absolute joy! We had sailed the whole way around the world together unlike any of the other teams!!!
We had an amazing welcome from all sorts of friends and family! My parents were there and absolutely overwelmed by it all.  Simon and Sophie were there from bluQube along with Alex Thompson!
The bubbles were finished very quickly by us all and Josh then handed over the beer and we all continued the celebrations on the dock!
Mum and Dad then dragged us off at 04Hoo local time for a bite to eat that Mum had specially cooked for us! It was delicious and so special to be all together again!!
In the last few days we have been doing a bit of sight seeing and getting some rest so sorry for the delay in the update….

My admiration for the two of you knows no bounds! That you are still speaking to each other after all the time is equally admirable.
Compliments to both of you on your remarkable achievement as well as to Di & johnny for having the faith, foresight and desire to see it all come together.
I’m so impressed by the magmitude of Team Pesheya Racing’s achievement!

Amazing team, so pleasant, so calm, so nice with the other teams, some times a bit rough against the race committee, but always ready to discuss in a positive way and so happy to sail together this round the world race…the boat is as she was when she left Palma may be better…ready to sail again…when I first met Phillippa and Nick on the NCR 2010, I didn’t imagine that I would follow their round the world race day by day sometimes hour by hour…thank’s again for you so pleasant company at each leg…

You are forgiven, in fact I didn’t expect another blog yet. I just took a peek. It’s great to hear from you, glad you are doing something different and for yourselves. Hope your weather is better than ours in the UK. I am so proud of you two, and as Len says, it’s amazing that you are still happy to spend time together after being stuck on a boat for so long. My congratulations are never ending…

Congratulations to you both. What a wonderfull experiance this has been following each of your daily blogs around the world. Even though I hardly know you both, I appreciate how you invited us into your daily lives and terrors. Those seas can be very scary and even with all the technology in the world you are on your own. I used your picture at the finish and some info of your experience in a lesson yesterday. Hope you don’t mind, but the kids had to do some work based on sailing around the world. They were very impressed. Once again, I hope you are enjoying the luxury of the land.
